San Diego

We headed down to San Diego yesterday for the BYU basketball game. We left early without any real plans about what we were going to do, and somehow ended up at the San Diego Zoo (which I love). Harper slept most of the way down, thanks to the shade of Tom's hat.Harper LOVED the zoo, particularly the ducks. And we went to the sea lion show. And Tom somehow convinced me to ride on the sky ride that goes across the park. That's never happening again. After the Zoo closed we headed over to San Diego State to go to the basketball game. There were some tense moments, but they ended up winning by two points. The win definitely made the two hour drive home a lot more pleasant.

busy is ok

Work has been really busy for me lately, which is a good thing. I was kinda slow for a bit in December, which always makes you nervous. Hopefully I can catch up on lost hours fairly soon, but that means I now see even less of Harper and Erica than ever. I'm extremely grateful for my opportunity to be employed and be able to provide for my family. And we still have opportunities to do fun things together. I actually think being busy might be a good thing as far as family activities go. When we had a lot of free time in the past I think the tendency was just to lay around and vegetate. Now we're making more of an effort to make the most of our time together.

As part of that new mantra we decided at the last minute that it would be fun to watch BYU try and continue their basketball win streak. So tonight we are going down to the BYU v. SDSU game in San Diego, which looks to be a lot of fun. We are incredibly blessed and I can't wait to experience all of the fun times we are going to continue to have together as a family.

The real question is, what name should we give this little guy?

It's a boy!

We had our ultrasound this morning and found out that we are definitely having a boy :) It was really funny because Tom was talking about how he thinks that the ultrasound just looks like a blob and he doesn't see how you can tell what's going on, and Harper pointed right at the screen and said, "baby." Ha ha.

Although it would have been nice for Harper to have a sister to play with, I was kind of hoping to have a boy this time. Now we have shopping to do . . . since pretty much all of Harper's things are pink or purple.

LACMA

On Monday we braved the rain to visit LACMA with Denise, John, and AJ. I was really surprised with how patient Harper was to walk around holding my hand, looking at the exhibits. Especially because we were there during her nap. I think we'll have to visit the museum again when I don't have to worry about checking in/out my umbrella at each building.Speaking of the rain, I hate it SO MUCH. Harper and I have really missed our daily walks and are getting a little stir crazy in our apartment.

By the way, we are going in for an ultrasound on Friday and should be able to find out the gender of the baby! Yay! Up until about a week ago I was positive it was a boy, but now I'm having some doubts. But I'm still leaning toward boy. Any guesses?
