Uh oh

I recently ripped a bunch of my CDs from high school and put them on my iPhone. We were listening to it in the car today when "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morrissette came on. After the song was over Harper said, "Oh boy Mommy, that is my favorite song." I should probably be a little more careful about what I listen to.

Trip to Bakersfield & Tom's reunion

This past weekend we went up to Bakersfield for Tom's 10 year high school reunion.  And of course to visit with family.  We even got to see Denise & family for a few minutes before they headed back home.
A very awkward photo of Harper and AJ.
Jonah LOVED playing with the dogs.  Harper still loves them, but since the incident with the dog bite she has been more cautious.
He also loved playing with the keyboard on the kitchen table.  This child loves electronics.
I was a little apprehensive about going to Tom's high school reunion, but it was actually really great.  His friends were a lot of fun and it was great to meet them.  They had a photo booth set up at the event and I managed to convince Tom to take some goofy photos.

Harper's first dance class

I signed Harper up for a dance class at the community center.  It is a pretty casual little class called "Dance and Movement for Preschoolers."  I thought I'd be able to get away with just having her wear regular clothes, but when we showed up most of the girls were wearing leotards and ballet shoes and Harper was sad that she wasn't so we had to do a little shopping this week.
Harper LOVED the class and it was so funny to watch her.
I will have to update tomorrow with a photo of her new ballerina clothes.

Harper's new bling

After Harper had a fairly bad allergic reaction at a playground a few weeks ago, we decided to get her this bracelet. We thought it would not only let other people know that she has food allergies, but also help Harper to understand what she can't have.
There is room for 5 charms and she has peanuts, eggs, dairy, soy, and strawberries on it.  She is also allergic to hazelnuts and pineapple.

car shopping

We have been thinking about getting a new car lately.  While we love our Camry, it has a small trunk because of the hybrid battery and with all of us in the car there is no extra room for anyone else.  Since we would like people to be able to visit us, we would like a little more room in the car.  Last weekend we went up to Bakersfield so Tom's Mom could help us with the kids while we did some shopping (thank you!).
We didn't come home with a new car, but we did narrow down our search to a Toyota Highlander and Ford Explorer.  After car shopping in the heat we went to Dewar's for some ice cream and to stock up on some Dewar's chews.
Harper was VERY red from the heat.  She is not made for warm weather.

We have also been enjoying the start of the BYU football season.  Here is one of Tom and Jonah watching the game together last week.
I don't think that he was all that interested in the game, but he adores Tom and is always happy to sit in Tom's lap.

Last week I took the kids to the Visitor's Center one afternoon.  I feel like we don't take advantage of it enough considering that it is just a few blocks away and it is a fun, free activity for the kids.
Harper has recently developed a love for noodles, which she calls "doodles."  Especially spaghetti which she calls "snake doodles."  Here she is attempting to slurp one up.  I am always happy when we find something that she will eat :)

Last year for Christmas my sister Aubrie gave the kids some Zhu Zhu pets.  They love them.  I will set one of them on the floor and Jonah will chase it around for a long time.  Here's a quick clip from the other day.

We did a little more car shopping today and the wheels have been set into motion so hopefully we will be picking up our brand new Ford Explorer sometime this week!
