9 month update

Harper is now 9 months. We went in for her 9 month visit this morning and found out that she is . . .

27.5 inches, a little under the 50th percentile
17 lbs. 9 oz, around the 25th percentile

She has only gained 1 pound since her 6 month appointment, but her doctor said that this isn't unusual for breastfed babies around this age. The doctor was a little surprised that she isn't crawling. He kept asking, she's not even scooting? Or rolling? Nope. We are now under orders to sit her in the middle of the room every day with her toys beyond her reach to see if she'll be motivated to move. I doubt it's going to happen anytime soon, she's pretty content just sitting there.

Her latest skill is that she now not only enjoys removing blocks out of the box, but now she likes to put them back in.She also gets really excited about copying us and saying "da da da da da" really loud. I am relatively sure that she now understands the following words:
Dada
Mama
eat
more
outside
toys
nap
I'm not really sure about anything else.

Harper is really a great baby and we feel so lucky to be able to hang out with her everyday!

I love her old man hairdo--kinda thin on top and sticking up wildly in back. What a cutie.

After her hair all fell out and is now starting to regrow I joke that she is balding in reverse. She should be a spokesman for Rogaine.

Lucky baby - lucky parents!

She'll start crawling, etc., when she's ready!

Savannah didn't crawl until she was 9 months! LOVE that shirt she's wearing, way too cute! Where did you get it?

She is growing up so fast. Maybe she'll start crawling at our house when she wants to follow the dogs around. It is hard to believe you were walking around at her age. Life changes when they start crawling and walking. You have to watch them every second. She'll crawl soon enough. We can't wait to see you. It won't be long.

Emma is not crawling either. I'm not worried about it and I don't think that you should be concerned either (although it didn't sound like you were). She is too cute and I just love her crazy hair!

She is so cute, I can't believe she is already 9 months old. Time flies when your baby is so adorable.
